Why was SPC Alliance created and what are its goals?

To establish a network of manufacturers, representatives, product consultants and specification writers, to write and promote the new Alliance and its specification.

To establish a new and different specification to be available to all architectural firms, owners and developers through the SPC Alliance network.

To ensure that architect’s clients and building owners save money by building a more competitive specification.

To enhance the relationship and build trust between architects, owners, developers and the SPC Network.

To educate and promote better door hardware products to the architectural community at large through CEUs and individual attention to the industry’s needs.

SPC Alliance is a network of independent manufacturers, sales representatives, product consultants and specification writers.

Working as a team, we cover the entire United States and Canada, providing door hardware specifications as our primary service. We also advise on door openings of all types and products. We provided a detailed preamble and hardware sets for all openings in Division 8 and Electronic Access Control.

We cover all of the following items with our fees:

  1. Develop an open and competitive architectural hardware specification.

  2. Provide door schedules of the architectural plans.

  3. Provide cutsheets for all products specified at the time of our first submission.

  4. Meet with owners, access control, design team and security teams to make sure all hardware works with the intent of the project requirements.

  5. RFI and all questions that come from the bid process, will be answered in a timely fashion.

  6. Submittal reviews and product comparisons when submittals are received and revised as well.

  7. Jobsite walk through at the conclusion of the project to assure all hardware provided is in compliance with the specification.
